This Madonna belongs in one of the private cathedral chapels. She is adorned with silver and is enthroned on a platform. Adorers, some barefoot, don clan-like cassocks and hoods, and hoist the fifteen hundred pounds of weight atop forty or more men who carry her through the cold, cobbled streets at Eastertide.
